DCI DONNA JACOBSON

donna (2).jpg

D.O.B: 13th May 1977

D.O.T: N/A

APPEARANCE:

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Blonde with the odd streak of silver

Height: 5ft 7

Physique: Slender but with a little thickening of the waist after years of take out foods and late nights.

Style: Favours practical clothing. She’ll wear a suit to work or at the very least, business casual , and some version of active wear at home, mostly leggings and vest tops, all bought while promising herself that this would be the year she stuck to her diets and made use of her gym membership.

MARITAL STATUS: Divorced.

CURRENT LOCATION: London.

CURRENT OCCUPATION: DCI at New Scotland Yard.

FAMILY: Her father has passed away but she visits her elderly mother two or three times a week. Her son has grown up and is now backpacking around Europe, the only communication she has with him is through emails and topping up his bank account. Her ex-husband is now married again with two children and a wife that is happy to stay at home and tend to his every need, rather than spend her time at gory crime scenes and staying late at the office.

CHILDHOOD: She had what could be described as an average childhood. An only child to two teachers, she spent her summer holidays with her parents, normally at her grandparents house by the coast. She was both loved and disciplined in equal parts which gave her a strong sense of right and wrong. Nothing bad happened to taint her rather mundane life until one of her playmates vanished when she was 9. Donna had watched the police combing the area searching for little Jessica, had sat there while her mother comforted her childhood friend, the girls mother, and wished she could do something to help. When her friends body was found on the beach two days later, her little neck covered in bruises in the shape of a hand print, it made a big impression on her. Jessica’s killer was never caught and form that day Donna vowed that she would do everything she could to stop that happening again, to give families closure and the knowledge they needed to move on with their lives.

EDUCATION: She finished her basic schooling with high B’s and A’s and went on to study Criminology and Sociology for her A-Levels, the completed an open university course in Crime and Justice, working full time to support herself and build up her savings before joining the police force.

QUALIFICATIONS: GCSE in Sociology, A-Levels in Criminology and Sociology and a degree in Crime and Justice.

PERSONALITY: Donna has a rather morbid sense of humour that very few people outside of her work can understand much less appreciate. Her unsociable hours and divorce mean she very rarely gets invited out on social occasions. She has a very strong sense of right and wrong and a low threshold for crap.

SPECIAL SKILLS: She seems to have a unique ability to know when someone is lying and a highly developed bullshit sensor.

STRENGTHS: Her stubbornness and inability to give up on something often helps her with her case work. She has an eye for even the smallest detail and seems to know when a case needs more digging, when everything is not what it seems.

WEAKNESSES: She often finds herself caring too deeply for the victims and their families, as it reminds her so much of her own experiences and this can lead to her taking her work home with her and spending too much time thinking about it. She’s never able to switch off.

FAVOURITE QUOTE: “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against -Malcom X”
